CHRISTMAS Gift Idea

What could be a better gift then a pair of handcrafted earrings made with paper beads made in Africa? Oh wait- I know... a pair of handcrafted earrings in a Maasai Gift Bag from Africa. Can you say... BONUS!

And all for only $20!

Now that is a fabulous gift that keeps on giving. By purchasing these earrings you are not only getting a really cute gift for someone - you are also helping those that handcraft the beads. A percentage of all sales go back to help people in Africa.

Turning junky to funky...

Nothing like taking an interesting piece of history and creating a new way to appreciate it. That is what frequently drives me to get my hands -a- working.

Example: Rollers turned Cuff
Retro curlers - vintage pieces that have a design standing on their very own. The holes in the metal punch with the wire & red rubber closures...very interesting. Inspiring really.

These earrings have already been on the move. This is the last pair I have available until I locate more rollers.

Check out my etsy store - we are getting ready to leave for our outreach trip to the Kibera Slum, Nairobi - Kenya and then off to Arusha, Tanzania for the month of August. All of the sales on my etsy store go towards our outreach trips.

Thanks for stopping by!

New TRIBAL CHIC Line w/ Paper Beads from AFRICA

These earrings were inspired by my LOVE for AFRICA. I picked many of the beads up on one of the outreach trips our family went on to Tanzania & Kenya. Some of the others were purchased through Fair-Trade from women in Kenya.

Many times when we are working with the Maasai we watch the women sitting around in groups doing their beadwork. I imagine the same with these beads - women sitting around conversing about their lives with treasured friends while their hands are busy working away on these colorful recycled magazine beads.

I have worked hard to keep a primitive, tribal look to each pair of these staying true to the origins of the beads.

Bottle caps & Beads from AFRICA

Ahhhh...Aren't these a refreshing sight? When I see them they make me think of the children in Africa. Everywhere we would go while on our outreach we would collect these little discarded waste items. There were a few times the locals would look at us and think... "Those crazy Mzungus" (tourists). Although I am not sure the name really fit, most of the time we were not participating as tourists... we were out doing real life with the people of Africa. From the crowded, mucky slums to the dry desert Maasailand.

Well these little earrings are for sale in my etsy shop. I have several colors & types - with more to come.
